The AEHL presented year end awards at the AEHL Championships in Wooster, OH to those players and coaches recognized for their achievements during the 2007-8 season.

Harrington Icebergs with Victoria Cup The Harrington Icebergs became the league first AEHL team to win back to back championships with a thrilling 2 - 1 victory over the Dover Seawolves today.

The Icebergs scored three unanswered goals in the first period as they skated past the Seawolves to take game 1 of the Best of Three Championship Series. Wanhabe Darge tallied twice while Zack Buckland and Harrison Rigsby each chipped with a goal. The Seawolves were led by Raitis Demboskis and Marcel Bordeaux with a goal apiece. The two teasm face off again Sunday at noon.

Jared Coreau turned aside 51 of 52 shots as the Harrington Icebergs slipped past the South Jersey Raptors 3 - 1. Hiroki Iwasaki, Marc Myre and Paris Heyd scored for the Icebergs while Lou Sarcone tallied the Raptors lone goal. The Dover Seawolves jumped out to a 3 goal lead only to see the Wooster Oilers knot up the game after two periods. With 5:56 remaining in the game Mykyta Uvarkin scored the game winner as he split the two Oiler defenseman and deked the goalie. Tom Staltari recorded two goals for the Oilers while Mike Radetskyi led the way for the Seawolves with 2 goals. The Icebergs and Seawolves will face off in the Championship series begining this evening at 9:45 PM at the Noble Ice Arena.
